Window/Doors

Just run your rainscreen up to your window/door and trim it out the same as you typically would.

Siding Details

Installing Plain Drain Rainscreen before your siding is similar to the stucco application. Always start your first row with the filter fabric back wrapped to create the bug screen. From there just roll out the rolls with the mesh facing your WRB.

You can use hammer staples to temporarily staple the rainscreen in place. Once the siding is installed then those fastenrs will permanently hold both the rainscreen and the siding.

If you plan on waiting a few days to weeks before installing your siding it is recommended to use nails with cap washers. This will help it hold up to the wind.
Remember the rainscreen has a 30 day UV Rating.

Stone and Brick

We recommend using Plain Drain Rainscreen behind all stone and antique brick applications.

Roll out your rainscreen over your WRB. You can temporarily fasten it using the hammer staples. From there install your Brick ties using Ring Shank nails. Make sure to increase the depth of your nails for rainscreen.

Hammer Staple

As a temporary Solution until you install your cladding. Only recommended if you will immediately install your cladding afterwards.

Cap Nails

BEST PRACTICE.

If you plan on installing your cladding material a few days or weeks after rainscreen install, then cap nails are recommended.
